It is quite possible that in the future humans will grow their own body parts. No, I don’t mean they are going to wait around and let limbs grow back after they’ve been cut off, rather I mean that in the future people will be able to use a 3-D printer to print body parts as they wear out. Then just like an automobile where you remove and replace, and it will be as simple as that. The healing process will be much quicker, and by then we will have gotten rid of the MRSA challenge.
Okay so, you are probably saying this sounds a lot like science fiction, and you are ready to stop reading this article. Nevertheless, I would submit to you that you should keep on reading because I have some further information and evidence to discuss. You see, in MedGadget Online News there was a great article titled; “Hybrid 3D Printer Will Make You New Cartilage,” by Scott Jung published on November 27, 2012. Now then, since this already exists in the present period, and since this is not a future technology, but it is here today, can you imagine what will be here tomorrow?
It will be amazing what we can do and where these medical devices will lead. It may be possible to increase human longevity for decades into the future, and by then we may have solved the problem of old age. Why not print body parts as they wear out using a 3-D printer that can print organic material? It makes perfect sense, even if the whole thought involved in the methodology sounds a lot like science fiction. Today some of this might be seemingly impossible, but for tomorrow’s technology it is a foregone conclusion, and perhaps we should start getting ready for that potentially eventuality in the future today.
In other words, maybe we should be doing research and development and training the next generation of medical students to be working in this venue because it will mean quite a few jobs. People will be willing to spend quite a bit of money to stay alive, and since there are a lot of people the supply and demand issues will maintain that cost structure.
None of us really knows for sure which body parts will run out first, but we know that eventually they do; it is called old age. Wouldn’t it be great if we got a handle on this now, and we can all live prosperous and fruitful lives far, far, into the future? Please consider all this and think on it.
